Green pea soup
It's time to harvest green peas. I always liked the slow pace with which my grandmother cleaned peas from pods, something was very peaceful and soothing in the process. In the center of the table there was a large basin, which was gradually filled with crops, and grandmother's friends sat around and, chatting quietly, peeled the peas. In order to get 300 grams of green peas, you need to peel about 500 grams of peas in pods.
After you remove the valuable vegetable from the shell, you can very quickly cook a delicious, fragrant and healthy summer soup.
The vegetables that I added to the soup do not have to be taken in proportion to the recipe. Maybe something else suitable for such a case grows in your garden. The main thing is that the base is thick, and for this you need to put more zucchini, and be sure to add fragrant fresh pepper, since, combined with green peas, it will make the flavor of the soup unique!
Unlike dried peas, green pea soup is cooked instantly. Make sure that the peas are not digested and the peas are kept intact.

Green Pea Soup Ingredients
- 400 g chicken;
- 300 g of green peas;
- 500 g zucchini;
- 250 g carrots;
- 150 g of onions;
- 150 g tomato;
- 100 g of bell pepper;
- 2 pods of fresh chili peppers;
- 4 cloves of garlic;
- 15 g of olive oil;
- 10 g ground paprika;
- 1.5 l chicken stock.
The method of cooking soup with green peas
Ingredients needed to make pea soup with green peas. I think it is not necessary to strictly adhere to the indicated amount in grams. Perhaps in your garden some other goodies have grown that can be added to this summer soup. Experiment, and you are guaranteed success!
Preparing the base of the soup. Fry finely chopped onions in a deep pan or pan, to which we add garlic, pieces of chicken and cubed young carrots a little later.
When the chicken pieces are lightly browned and the vegetables soft, we add potatoes, chopped tomatoes, zucchini, peeled and diced, fresh green peas. Pour all these ingredients with the prepared chicken broth, but if you don’t have the broth, then ordinary water will do, just the taste of the soup will be less saturated.
We put sweet and bitter peppers in boiling soup at the same time as ground paprika. Carrots, tomatoes and paprika will give the soup a beautiful orange color, and fragrant, fresh peppers and green peas complement each other very well. Add salt, cook pea soup for 30 minutes over medium heat.
Do not digest soup with young green peas. Peas are very tender and can boil! 30 minutes is enough to prepare all the vegetables well. Try not to mix the soup once again so that the tender green peas remain intact.
Season the soup with fresh herbs and ground pepper. Served with fresh toasted croutons, this is a classic addition to pea soup. Enjoy your meal!
