Homemade tomato sauce - for an incomparably tasty barbecue!
Shish kebab tomato sauce with onion and sweet pepper - a homemade alternative to industrial sauces. No preservatives and additives, without vinegar, without oil, in a word - this is not ketchup, but a tomato balm that will decorate any picnic with barbecue. Preparing the sauce is very simple. To begin with, we collect from the garden or buy the most ripe tomatoes on the market. In addition to tomatoes, you will need sweet and meaty bell peppers, again, red. And, of course, onions - not a single seasoning can do without it.
You can cook a thick ketchup - for this you have to boil it for a rather long time, like tomato puree. If cooked in total within an hour, then the consistency will turn out to be similar to store sauces.

Ingredients for Tomato Kebab Sauce with Onions and Sweet Peppers
- 1.5 kg of ripe tomatoes;
- 600 g of red pepper;
- 300 g onions;
- 40 g of granulated sugar;
- 17 g of salt;
- 2.h l hops-suneli;
- 2 tsp sweet paprika;
- 1 3 tsp ground red pepper;
- 1 tsp smoked paprika.

We wash the tomatoes, cut the stem, cut coarsely. Put chopped tomatoes in a deep pan. Not fundamentally, but important! From fleshy ripe and overripe tomatoes, a thick tomato puree is obtained - the basis of a delicious seasoning.
We clean the onions, cut into thin half rings, add to the chopped tomatoes. The sweeter the onion, the tastier the finished dish - this is the law!
We cut sweet red pepper into two parts, remove the core, rinse the halves with running water to wash off the seeds. Put chopped pepper in a blender, turn into mashed potatoes.
Add the mashed peppers in the pan to the chopped vegetables.
At this point, no more ingredients need to be added. Just close the pan, put on the stove, cook for 30 minutes over medium heat. Water does not need to be added; moisture is enough in vegetables.
Now wipe the stewed vegetables through a colander or fine sieve. Wipe thoroughly so that only the peel and seeds are in the residue. Vegetable puree is returned to the pan again. Boil over low heat without a lid for 15-20 minutes.
We measure sugar, salt, add suneli hops, sweet and smoked paprika, burning ground red pepper. If the vegetable puree is very boiled, then you need to reduce the amount of salt and sugar to your liking.
Pour seasonings and spices into a pan with boiled mashed potatoes, mix, bring to a boil, boil for 7 minutes and remove from the heat our ready homemade tomato sauce for barbecue.
Banks, lids and a spoon (scoop) mine, pour cool boiling water. Then we dry the cans in the oven. Utensils for blanks for the winter should be sterile.
We pour the hot sauce into jars, close the lids and send for sterilization. We sterilize half-liter jars 15 minutes after boiling water, tightly cork. Turn the cans upside down, after cooling, remove them to the pantry.
