Fried potatoes in the oven - when you want to treat yourself
Oven-fried potatoes are a simple recipe for a delicious side dish. But sometimes it happens that you want to pamper yourself and allow little joys. In this recipe I will share my secret of cooking delicious potatoes, soft inside and crispy outside. It's no secret that when frying potatoes in a frying pan or deep-frying on the stove there are many problems. Firstly, the smell of heated or burnt oil, and secondly, a dirty plate. My cooking method is the most convenient - clean, it smells delicious, and a bit of a hassle.
For this side dish you can cook various sauces with dill, tomatoes, mayonnaise or cheese. Fried potatoes with chicken and sour cream sauce are served on the festive table, and for everyday dinner, everyone is always happy with delicious food!

Fried potato ingredients
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 50 ml of refined sunflower oil;
- salt, greens for serving.
The way to cook fried potatoes in the oven
Potatoes for frying can be taken any, suitable both young and old, crumbly and starchy. It is better to choose large tubers; they are easier to cut.
So, we clean the potatoes from the peel, immediately put in a bowl of cold water, so as not to darken.
Cut the tubers into identical slices. There are many devices for slicing, one of them is a vegetable grater with interchangeable nozzles - quickly, conveniently and all slices are the same as for selection.
Sliced potatoes are again sent to a bowl of clean cold water to wash off the starch. Rinse several times, discard on a sieve.
Heat the water to a boil in a large pan, throw the chopped potatoes into boiling water. No salt needed!
We cook for several minutes, depending on the thickness of the slice. Then we discard the stewed potatoes on a sieve, let it drain to water.
Meanwhile, we heat the oven to a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius. Pour refined sunflower oil into the pan. We put the pan with oil in the preheated oven for several minutes so that the oil is also heated.
Carefully transfer the stewed potatoes into a pan with heated oil. Be careful that splashes of hot oil do not burn your hands and face.
Cook the fried potatoes in the oven for 15-20 minutes, mix once to uniformly brown on all sides. Then we take the pan out of the oven and salt the dish to your liking.
This side dish is served hot. The potato absorbs smells and tastes very well, goes well with onions, mushrooms, finely chopped dill and caraway seeds. Enjoy your meal.
By the way, please note that I already salted the fried potatoes completely ready. It is necessary to salt at this stage, it is easier to control the daily rate of table salt. It is no secret that in our days, the amount of salt eaten per day in many people significantly exceeds the permissible norm recommended by nutritionists. By the way, the daily allowance according to WHO should not exceed 5 g per person, and this is only 1 teaspoon without a slide!
