Useful mountain ash
Rowan blossomed a week earlier than the apple tree. Ordinary mountain ash in the front gardens near the houses we often meet, but interest in mountain ash as a fruit crop is still emerging.
Last year I first tried the berries of the mountain ash Nevezinskaya. Very good: no astringency, bitterness, aroma, sweet and sour.
In the old days, the shepherds were very much appreciated by the shepherds of the village of Nevezhino, where one peasant discovered this culture. They traded it in remote areas as a curiosity, because it is tasty and fruitful, not afraid of frost, and also very decorative and healing. Highly appreciated the Nevezhan mountain ash I.V. Michurin. After his work, she became a fruit crop. Rowan gives a good crop (up to 50 kg and more), especially if planted in an open, sunny place. The cold north wind can take over, protect heat-loving plants in the garden. And the potato planted next to it does not suffer from late blight, that is, it also has phytoncide properties.
By its vitamin content, mountain ash can be compared with lemon and blackcurrant. Its fruits have a mild laxative, astringent, anti-inflammatory effect. Decoction and infusion of fruits are used for vitamin deficiency, diarrhea, constipation, kidney stones.
Now you need to take care of her in the same way as for other fruit crops. Rowan roots are located close to the surface, so loosen the earth shallow. It would be nice to dig a groove around the tree to a depth of 30 - 40 cm, retreat 1 meter from the trunk, lay manure on the bottom, water it abundantly - the crop will improve, and the berries will be larger.
