Astragalus is found in the steppe zone of the southern regions of European Russia, in particular, in the lower reaches of the Don and Volga. It grows on the steppe slopes of beams and river valleys, in sparse bushes. But now the plant has become quite rare and needs to be protected, so astragalus woolly-flowered is introduced into the culture.
Propagated by seeds. They are sown to a depth of 2.5-3 cm with aisles of 45 cm. The plantation is used for three years. The highest plant productivity is observed in the second year of life. As a raw material, the terrestrial part of flowering plants without coarse parts of the stem is used. When harvesting it is cut with a sickle or knife. It is not recommended to pick the stem, because while the plant is pulled out with the root and dies. If you carefully cut off the ground part, then the plant grows well.

After cutting, the grass is loosely placed in a basket or bag and, if possible, immediately dried in the attic, under a canopy, spread out in a thin layer (no more than 5-7 cm) and periodically mixed. If the grass is subjected to artificial drying, the temperature should not exceed 55 °. Store in a dry ventilated area. In the herb Astragalus woolly flowering contains a polysaccharide complex, organic acids, coumarins, flavonoids, vitamins and many other compounds. In addition, it was found that the plant concentrates iron, molybdenum, selenium and barium. Recently, it has been established that the stability of an organism is largely determined by the content of selenium in organs and tissues. It is proved that the age of heart attacks, strokes and oncological conditions is directly related to selenium deficiency.
